Where “Good Friday” is anything BUT “good”

April 16, 2022 No. 11
So yesterday marked a 2,000-year-old Christian day of remembrance—“Good Friday.” Jesus Christ was brutally crucified (the Jewish hierarchy thinking they had erased him from history). These officials pawned themselves off as being “men of God” while they had no idea who God really was!
Today Christians are still mourning the brutality of the Cross. Jesus’ disciples and all believers of that day deeply mourned their Master’s undeserved brutality and ultimate execution. Most of the disciples abandoned Jesus, making this time of mourning even more guilt-filled.
I admit that today I am ceremoniously mourning for Jesus. I hope everyone claiming their salvation will reflect on the price Christ paid on that Cross.
If you don’t know Jesus as your Savior and Lord, the following is a sample prayer you might pray, believing each word, and being forgiven. Then, be in a church tomorrow to celebrate Easter! God Bless…
Dear Jesus,
I know I’m a sinner and don’t deserve to receive Your forgiveness. I understand that You are forgiving me of my sins and that Your sacrifice on the cross was payment for the many sins I have committed and will commit in the future. I know that You took the punishment for the wrongs I have committed. Thank You for not giving me what I deserve. You saved me from being condemned for my sins so that I can spend eternity in heaven with You. Thank You, Jesus. Right now, I accept Your free gift of salvation. Please come into my heart and save me from my sins.
Thank You, Jesus.
Amen
